Use of technologies -Camera - Adam

The HD camera we used.
This year, for our advanced portfolio we have been allowed to use a HD camera when filming. This is a great help compared to when using non HD tape cameras in our foundation portfolio last year. Not only does the HD camera obviously look crisper but because it doesn't use a tape and uses a hard drive. The hard drive benefits us greatly as it allows us to put footage straight onto the computer a lot easier than the tape camera allowed us to. The HD camera is also much better as there is no risk of recording over our footage as we had on the tape camera and each seperate shot can be viewed separately on the HD camera so it makes it much easier to review footage as we went along.

Microphone (Top) and microphone attachment
The HD camera also had a good microphone which recorded sound very well. There was also an additional section where a larger microphone could be added that was also provided. We found this additional microphone particularly useful in quieter scenes. With the new camera we also found it much easier to set the white balance and I believe it was much easier to create good framing with this camera.
